Bio: Li Ding is an Internet entrepreneur, SemanticWeb guru, and SmartData evangelist. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Peking University, where he became an early adopter of the Semantic Web while solving interoperability issues in geographic information system(GIS). He then received PhD degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he created Swoogle, the first semantic web search engine in 2004. After graduation, he joined Knowledge Systems, Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (KSL) at Stanford University in 2006, and later the world-class Semantic Web research group -- the Tetherless World Constellation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2009, he architected the first Semantic Web based linked open government data portal (Data-Gov Wiki, later evolved to TWC-LOGD) which is highlighted by the Data.gov (the open government data portal of US Federal government) as a low-cost reference implementation for exploiting advanced Web technologies and encouraging citizen participation. In 2011, he joined Qualcomm Corporate Research and continue investigate knowledge management on mobile computing platform with special focus on context-aware computing.
